I have spent the first week of Lent doing something I used to do a couple of years ago on a daily basis, listening to podcasts. Over the course of the last year or so somehow I got distracted and I stopped paying attention to the podcasts and the connections with friends I made in Catholic New Media specifically.
Tonight I started the process to turn that around, I sat in on Catholics in a Small Town live recording over at SQPNConnect.ing.com. I got to chat with several folks I know, fellow listeners like Mike, Denyse, Debi, Deborah, Maria, Dan, Mary, Tom, and at the end Sean from Canada. It was great to chat with the gang again and get back in touch. Mac and Katherine are doing a great job with CST. Afterward Sean and I had a Skype conversation about a variety of subjects and we had a great 90 minute conversation.
I have spent less time on TV watching and more time catching up on podcasts. On average I am listening to 10 podcasts a day so as a result I am making headway on the list in iTunes. I am looking forward to recording some feedback for these shows.
So what about Catholics Down Yonder? Well as many of you know, I started recording a podcast after being a long time listener. So if you permit me to, I want to experience this rebirth as an active listener while I decide what to do for a podcast. I think I am looking at something different then what we have done before. Maybe something involving adoption from a Catholic parent perspective. But most of all I want it to be fun for both me and the listener.
